Jared Padalecki was criticised after he told his 1.2 million Twitter followers that he thought Philip Seymour Hoffman's death was 'Stupid'.

In the initial tweet, which the 31 years old American actor has since deleted, Jared wrote: '"Sad" isn't the word I'd use to describe a 46 years old man throwing his life away to drugs. "Senseless" is move like it. "Stupid".

His words were met by abuse from Twitter users after his message was seen by million, following Hoffman's death on Sunday morning.
