Pop megastar Beyonce Knowles gave birth Saturday to a baby girl at a hospital in New York City, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Mother and baby were both "doing fine," the newspaper from Beyonce's hometown said.
Friend and music mogul Russell Simmons was among the first to celebrate the arrival, tweeting the new parents: "congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z."
