I love to make-up but that doesn't make me a make -up freak. Some weeks can pass me by without me applying make-up and some weeks can't pass me by without make-up. Well that's how my make-up routine looks like. Some couple of days ago i bought a new brand of lip gloss simply because i found the bottle very attractive, few days later i decided to put it on, i was expecting to perceive vanilla or any sweet fragrance but unfortunately the type of strong chemical that oozed out of it made me i had to read the content once again to find out one more time if i actually bought a lip gloss or a car paint ( i just don't know the name of the strongest chemical i can describe it with right now). My husband was forced to ask me if I'm painting/spraying any object. So you can imagine how bad the lip gloss is. I kept wondering why someone/people would produce such chemical as lip gloss. I know they have nose to know that their product is faraway from what lip gloss should be.
So the question boils down to this: How conscious are you with the type of contents your make-ups are made with? Findings have it now that several major brands of lipstick contain dangerous levels of cancer-causing lead which can be detected with a gold ring. Lead is a chemical which causes cancer. Studies found out that those lip stick which are suppose to last for 24 hrs contain lead. I don't know how true there findings are but the backed it up with an experiment which you can find below:
* Put some lipstick on your hand
* Use a 24k-14k gold ring to scratch on the lip stick
* If the lipstick color changes to black then you know the lipstick contains lead.
Although i have not tested this before because i don't have those 24 hrs stay lipstick, but because of this i will go and buy one so that i can experiment on this article and find out how accurate this information is. I found this post very informative and interesting. I wear make up every now and then but I have sensitive skin so I have to be very careful.
