Nemesis yesterday caught up with a 38-year-old man in Ogun state Nigeria as he was caught with 18 human skulls.
Identified as Adelani Ayomide, the man who resides in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area of the state was nabbed by the police in Ado odo town, Ado Odo Local Government Area of the state. Ayomide was said to be allegedly transporting the human skulls using a motorbike, commonly called “okada” before the long arm of the law caught up with him.
Witnesses told sunnewsonline.com that Police men on stop-and-search duties along Ado Odo- Owode road accosted him and in the process of searching him, discovered the human skulls concealed in a bag he was allegedly carrying before he was promptly arrested.
Although the driver of the motor cycle escaped, Ayomide, whom it was learnt has already confessed to the crime, was unlucky as he was caught before he could escape.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the arrest added that the arrest was made possible by the vigilance of the police on patrol.
He disclosed that the suspect would be transferred to the Criminal Investigations Department for discret investigations.
The PPRO also quoted the state Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye as assuring the public of getting to the source of the human skulls ” as well as assisting in getting other suspects in connection with the crime.
In a related development, a Catholic reverend father from Enugu who allegedly robbed a family in Agbara, Ogun State is now cooling off in police net.
