Cut it out! The schoolboy from Sunderland has been teased by classmates for looking like a girl and has asked his mother Leeanne to get his hair trimmed |
The five-year-old has never had his hair cut, and his golden locks tumble past his waist.
But after being mistaken for a girl, he is demanding a trip to the barber. The mother Leeanne Smith, 30, said: ‘When Rean was born he had a lovely little curl of golden hair at the back of his head.
‘I just could never bear to get it cut, not even his fringe.
Are you against the mother's decision or for?
if it causes her child a trouble maybe she have to consider cutting it already :) but the decision is her's. She knows best:)
ReplyDeletei keep a thin "tail" for my son's hair..but not trimming the hair for so long...oh no...sure to be tease by his class mates
ReplyDeleteoh blimey that is long cury hair, as beautiful as it is, and as much as I am awful for getting my boys hair cut, (always put it off as I love them having it longer) I think especially if he is asking for it to be cut then its time to trim it!
ReplyDeleteIf he wants it cut, then yes obviously get it cut. Why is she making her child go through being made fun of just because she wants him to have long hair? That's pretty selfish.

I guess his mother has to think seriously about what he is experiencing as it may make him afraid of going to school and even affect his school work. Nevertheless it is terrible when children resort to teasing and bullying another child. I hope everything works out for the best.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hair, but I think at this point, the child should have a say in what their hair looks like.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a picture of a girl :). I can sympathize with not wanting to cut his curly locks as a baby but at the same time, she had to know this day was coming. Following you from 7 ways to follow :)
ReplyDeleteI can understand where the mother is coming from, but her sons self esteem is at stack here. Its like sending him to school with a kick me sing on his back that she placed there. If her son does not want it cut, than no problem. He is asking for it to be cut to not look like a girl, there should be no problem.
ReplyDeleteI vote cut it.
Cut the kids hair for heaven's sake! If the mom likes long hair she should have a girl!! Let the boy have what he wants--a haircut!!
ReplyDeleteLOL! When I first saw the picture I thought, "What a cute little girl!"

Is this picture of a boy?! oh my...what beautiful hair anyway! my 5 boys have buzz cuts and my girls have hair that looks like that...so i am completely biased....but whatever works for them...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hair. I too thought it was a girl at first glance. I do hope that if the hair is cut it is donated...
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't look that upset. There's having long hair on boys and there's the ridiculous. I'm surprised he's not asked to tie it back at school. I think she wanted a girl.

ReplyDeletewhat a downright pretty little boy! I understand how she was feeling at the beginning, my little boy had those sweet golden curls, too, and once I cut them, they never came back :(
ReplyDeleteBut at some point, the child gets old enough to choose...
simply put...it's gotta go!!!! : )
