Many ask why do women and certain others wear make-up? What does it do for them? And so many other
funny questions. There is this popular maxim that goes " Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder" Even those that are suckers for all things natural finds out that they apply one or two make-ups indirectly. Have you observed that sometimes when people see you all natural they wonder if you are sick or stressed out. That is the impression you create when you decide not to appreciate the work of art.
All women deserve to be appreciated, respected and admired. Some believe totally that women who make-up are those trying to cover some flaws because they are not confident with their natural look, those trying to please the opposite sex etc. Is not all about that most times. When a woman improves her physical appearance, amazing things begins to happen. People begin to pay attention on her, listen to her, seek her company etc. It also helps to boost confident,
believe it or not. Making up doesn't really mean you are not appreciating yourself the way you are, is all about adding glow to your face and bringing out the creativity in you.. You must not be a celebrity or in the spotlight before you start taking care of your self.
Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything that is beautiful!
Great piece!
ReplyDeletereally scary before and afer photos. Ya at least must wear minimal make up
ReplyDeleteHi May,
ReplyDeleteI see nothing wrong with wearing make-up especially when one is heading into the public!:) Interesting piece and pictures. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day.

Wow. What a gift photoshop is to celebs. I always wear a little makeup when headed out. I used to never wear makeup but now I find it a must.
ReplyDeleteI love to wear make-up for me, not for anyone else. It's really the only time I devout to just me and I enjoy it. I feel like I look a little more finished and polished. I have gone out with no make-up, which is something I never would have done when I was younger, but I really enjoy my stuff!! Thanks for a fun post!
ReplyDeleteInteresting before and after pictures! I'm just glad I don't have to impress the public...lol
ReplyDeleteGood piece!

I did not used to wear make-up very often but when I did I started to notice now much better I felt about myself. I felt like I looked more polished and more professional. It really made a big change for me--and I started to realize that was enough. It no longer mattered if anyone else saw or cared--I started doing it for me. :)

Your post ignores the problem. Why should a woman have to wear makeup to be listened to? Men do not have to. It's blatant, bald-faced sexism.
ReplyDeleteAnd I really resent that makeup is somehow 'taking care of yourself'. It isn't wrong to wear makeup, but what is wrong with any of those pictures on the left side? Each one of those women looks just as beautiful both with and without makeup.
I can't say I agree that not wearing makeup = not taking care of yourself, or that wearing makeup will lead to being more appreciated, respected and admired, but okay.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments ladies. Is good to hear your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are all the reminder I need to get out of my sweats after exercise!
ReplyDeleteMake-up can definitely work magic! I personally do not wear any mainly because I never learned how and can't be bothered now. But when I do change my appearance through other methods to feel more beautiful, I instantly feel transformed. It really is all about making yourself feel great, then the world will see you as that much greater!
ReplyDeleteReally great before and after shots! I really like your point here, and even if it's just a little blush and lipstick, it can make a huge difference.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Wow; those photos had me doubling taking there. It is hard to believe those are the same people!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear a lot of make-up. Most the time I DO go all-natural. Not because i think makeup is bad, but because I'm living as a single mom of 3 little kids while the husband is away on an internship. A lot of times, I just don't have the time or the opportunity to dress up. Some days we're lucky if i get to actually DO the hair. haha.
But I also don't do much with make up simply because I don't know how. My mother wasn't into makeup, I never learned how to properly apply the makeup to create a work of art. I can accent natural features, but definitely can't completely change my appearance as those in the photos are.
great article though!

This is more to do with photoshop than make-up. Also once you have started to pile it on makeup , how much do you need to cover the imperfections that is causes. I say a healthy diet and good skin regime is all they need.
