How Deep Is Your Love For Animals?

I know is no longer a new story when you hear about people killed by animals they classified as house pets. As for me i love animals a lot but not all. Unfortunately i don't have any house pet and i don't intend having for now. Last week a pregnant women in San Francisco was killed by one of her pit bulls, her mauled body was found by her husband. I can imagine how he  felt when he came across the body of his late pregnant wife, so sad. A man also testified about his neighbors 3 year old son who was severely mauled in the face and torso by a six year old family pit bull which has never shown any sign of aggression. You can imagine  a man who lives in the 15th floor which is the last floor of the building where he lives breeds a python, one day he discovered that the python has escaped from it's cage, he notified the state authority about the ugly incident and all the residents of that building were evacuated for 3 days in a nearby shelter just because a tenant decide to breed a dangerous animal, luckily they found the python dead, probably it was killed by someone who lives in same building with him. The state government made him paid for all the inconveniences he caused people. Guess that serves him right.

I have read so many articles about pit bulls " for and against", i love dogs a lot but is good for people to have enough information about this particular breed of dog which does not have good reputation. Sometimes i ask myself this questions: Why do people still have such animals in their homes? Why are people still buying them? Why would this dog kill his owner? Yet people buy them everyday despite all this tragic stories. Some people are saying it should be a requirement to take your dog (no matter the breed) to a reputable obedience training class in order to get it licensed and registered to avoid being killed by the dog. How good does this sound? For me it doesn't make sense at all when it comes to pit bulls. Many said they buy pit bulls for protection, then what happens at the end? I know and have seen so many sweet dogs one can buy and bring home where there are children instead many parents prefer buying some dangerous animals that would end up killing  their own kids or that of other people. That is why is very important to know the type of family your children hangs out with or the type of neighbors you have so that you don't end up being victim of such ignorant situations. Parents please for the sake of your kids and innocent people out there, try as much as possible to put into consideration the type of animals you intend bringing home cause you might end up buying what will  eventually take your own life.
Hope you all have a great week. xx

  1. As ugly as it sounds, it has become a trend and I often ask why can't the government do something about this. I love pets, but the dangerous ones are just out of my scope.

  5. I'll take the other side, the majority of pets are just extensions of their owners. Anyone can train a hound dog to be a mean nasty dog just as easily as they can a pit bull. That said, some breeds are stronger than others so when they do bite, it does more damage. On the flip side, with his genetically messed up mouth due to overbreeding, our little french bulldog can bite away and it just doesn't hurt. So lets just remember, many dogs don't have a chance if they are raised by bad owners.

  6. I owned a Amstaff Terrier which is the cousin of the Pit Bull. My dog was the sweetest dog ever. You have to KNOW your pets lineage! ALL pit bulls are not bad. You have to make sure your pit bull is AKC certified. AKC certification ensures knowledge of the dogs lineage!

  7. Poor woman only had she known that what she bought with her hard earned money could take her precious life. May her soul and that of her unborn baby rest in peace. Hope people will learn from this.

  8. Following you from the Monday Mingle hop! I did a speech in college on Bit Bulls. They should not be a domesticated animal.

  9. I couldn't agree more! I am an animal lover, but why have a chimpanzee as a pet? You feel awful when these bad things happen, but at the same time, you wonder what they had expected. And most times, it's not the animals fault, they shouldn't have been domesticated to begin with. Anywho...I'm a new follower from the Monday Blog Hop. Love your blog! Check mine out if you have a chance! http://www.mytwintasticlife.com/

  10. I'm going to take the other side too. I've had 2 pit bulls and now I have an American Bull dog. My first pit bull was the sweetest, most harmless dog in the world. When she died we got another pit bull and she was unfortunately not the sweetest dog and had a problem with certain people. We had to give her up because I was having a baby and didn't want to have her around children. Our current dog is an american bull dog and she is so sweet with my boys. I truly feel that these dogs get a bad rap and that it is because of their fighting past that they are brought to the attention of the media. There are other dogs that cause harm to humans, but we don't hear about them. Banning a dog is how we fix the problem. People need to be educated dog owners and need to be aware about the breed that they are buying.

  12. Following you from the monday mingle,

I have a German Shepherd who is known to be a 'scarier' dog, I also have three kids under 5, she adores them. I think like most things it is the person that raises them not the breed...

  13. Pit bulls scare me as well and I am lover of dogs. I have two West German Shepherds. I agree that people need to read and educate themselves on the different breeds before they fall in love and choose a dog. German Shepherds are wonderful dogs, but they are bred to be one family dogs, and to be part of the family, not left in the yard to do whatever. They, as all dogs, need constant training with commands. My dogs are docile unless provoked. I know I'll catch flack for this, but I'm not sure why pit bulls are allowed to breed and exist with all of the problems this breed is causing. Just a personal opinion. Great post. Thanks for the information. I am new GFC follower and I shared your blog on My Life.'s facebook. Hope you'll have a moment to hop over and follow back. Thanks. Donna

  14. I am a huge animal lover- but not of animals that are dangerous or atypical. I am not sure why so many people feel the need to have exotic/dangerous pets!

I found you through Book Blogs and signed up to follow you. When you have a chance- please stop by the blog for my middle grade novel that I am hoping to get published. http://thesecretdmsfilesoffairdaymorrow.blogspot.com/

    Take care-
Jess- although I may show up as Fairday, the main character from my novel. I can't figure out why that happens sometimes and I can't fix it. :)

  15. I love this post I'm a huge dog lover and I respect that some people have Pit bulls but the majority of people who have them have them for protection. To obtain a protective dog and to train him blindly is...Stupid. Plain and simple. thanks for posting. Check out my blog at
