Colombian City Gets Giant, Outdoor Escalator

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Officials in Colombia's second-largest city on Monday inaugurated a giant, outdoor escalator for residents of one of its poorest neighborhoods.

Comuna 13 residents came out to celebrate and study the $6.7 million escalator which officials say will shorten the 35-minute hike on foot up the hillside to six minutes. Use of the escalator is free.

"This is a dream come true," homemaker Olga Holguin told RCN television.

A Social Network Only For Women! Men Not Allowed

A 30-year-old Canadian woman has come up with a new social networking website exclusively for females.

The site Luluvise.com bans males from joining, the Daily Mail reported.

It connects with other networking websites LinkedIn and Facebook. Since its launch Wednesday, it already has 1,000 users in 69 countries and more members joining.

"Luluvise uses Facebook to make registration easier. We do not post to walls or make Luluvise information public anywhere or to other Facebook users," creator Alexandra Chong was quoted as saying.

More than 500 men submitted their emails to get access to the site, but instead received an email reading: "Hey Dude, you're a dude."

The daily, however, said it was relatively easy for men to get around the ban. All they need to do is set up a fake Facebook profile as a woman, and make friends with themselves on that social network.

 The 46-year-old actress, who is a mother of three kids with husband Matthew Broderick, said she is not worried about getting older, Contactmusic reported.

"I try to dress appropriately for my age and I'm a realist about what I look like. But if those physical things were my insecurities I'd be thrilled. What wonderful problems.

"My insecurities are more substantial than that. I worry first and foremost about my children and their health. My husband, and his. I worry about what work opportunities will come up. My own creative satisfaction. How will I pursue things and will the work be good?," she said.

Parker also said she does not feel the need to have Botox and is hoping the film industry is starting to look down on it.

Is really amazing how time flies. Time waits for no one. The holidays are here and 2011 will soon come to a close. I'm really thankful for so many things that has happened in my life this year. Most importantly bringing a new life into this world this year. I give all the praise to God almighty in heaven for making it all possible. So many people that started this year with us couldn't  make it to the end. But we are almost making it due to the special grace of God upon us. So make good  use of each second.

In the media people are saying so many negative things about this christmas song, saying that Mariah Carey is too old for this music video. Others added "It was definitely over the top and inappropriate for a family Christmas show". People continued "I found this video inappropriate, to take a sweet song and make it so sensual. What kind of message are we sending to our young people? etc.
